- Kaboud Oil Field
The Kaboud Oil Field is one of Iran’s oil fields, located in the northern part of Khuzestan Province, approximately 45 kilometers northwest of Andimeshk. This field was discovered in 1971, and oil production began in 2004. Currently, the Kaboud oil field has an average crude oil production capacity of 12,000 barrels per day. The field is managed by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).
In 2018, the national Iranian south oil company (NISOC), as the primary client, conducted a tender for Kaboud oil fied project and declared Energy Gostar Pars Drilling and Exploration Company (Pedex), as subsidiary of Sina Energy Gostar Holding, as the winner. This project is part of an integrated package within the operational plan aimed at increasing and maintaining production across 27 selected reservoirs, under the supervision of the National Iranian Oil company ( NIOC)
The first well completed under the 28-reservoir plan at the Kaboud oil field has commenced production. According to an Oil Online report citing NISOC, Engineer Ahmad Mohammadi stated that the first well of the planned wells for the Kaboud field began production on April 9 of this year, with an approximate flow rate of over 1,000 barrels per day from the Bangestan reservoir. He added that the key achievements of this successful drilling include acquiring extensive new information about the extent and dimensions of the Kaboud field reservoir, evaluating the production potential of the Ilam formation within the Bangestan reservoir, adhering to environmental requirements and waste management, and transferring experience and knowledge from NISOC to the private sector in the oil industry.
The CEO of the National Iranian South Oil Company regarded the successful completion of drilling this well at the beginning of the Year of Production Leap as a promising development for the growth of the oil industry with the participation of capable Iranian private sector companies. He added that, according to the plans made for the first half of this year, we will witness progress in other areas of the Maintenance and Production Enhancement Plan, including Ahvaz, Mansouri, Gachsaran, and Marun. The Kaboud project is part of the Maintenance and Production Enhancement Plans for the oil-rich regions, encompassing the drilling of four wells in the Asmari reservoir and four wells in the Bangestan reservoir.
The Kaboud Field, located in Ilam Province, is one of the fields under the supervision of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC). In the execution of the aforementioned project, the primary client (NISOC) delegated a portion of the project to the PEDEX Company. Subsequently, the client, by inviting qualified companies, organized a tender process. Based on its track record, resources, and extensive experience, as well as achieving the highest necessary scores and offering the best price, the Giah Chasb Kish Drilling Services Company won the tender. In August 2019, the necessary contract was signed in two parts: the supply of chemicals and drilling fluids, and the provision of technical engineering services. This project was completed in late 2020, ahead of the contractual schedule, under optimal conditions, and was approved and commended by the client.
First Deep well of Iran
In August 2017, the government approved a budget of 25 billion tomans for the drilling of the country’s first deep water well in Zabol, on a study basis. This project, jointly pursued by the Ministry of Energy and the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, was initiated by the Iranian Water and Power Resources Development Company in Sistan, 50 kilometers southeast of Zabol, in December 2017. The project was awarded to Padex Company, a subsidiary of the Foundation of the Oppressed, and drilling commenced. By mid-2018, the well reached water at a depth of over 2,000 meters.
In the tender for designing and performing the drilling operations for this exploratory well in the Sistan region, Pedex Company emerged as the winner. Subsequently, the main contractor (Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company) entrusted the project to Pedex Company. The esteemed client then invited qualified companies to tender for the project. Giyah Chasb Drilling Services Company, with its extensive background, capabilities, and experience, won the tender by achieving the highest scores and offering the best price. Contracts were signed for two components: the supply of chemicals and drilling fluids, and the provision of technical and engineering services.
By the end of 2018, the contract was completed ahead of the scheduled timeline and was approved and commended by the client.
